The PSA sponsors twelve annual awards contests, with the aim of encouraging and rewarding excellence in poetry by both new and established poets. The winners are honored at our Annual Awards Ceremony, held in New York City in the spring of each year.

The contests are judged by poets representative of diverse styles and backgrounds. The judges for the 2009 PSA Awards are: Elizabeth Alexander, Mei-mei Berssenbrugge, Lucie Brock-Broido, Christopher Buckley, Henri Cole, Graham Foust, John Koethe, James Longenbach, Ed Roberson, Matthew Rohrer, Martha Ronk, Dara Wier, John Yau.

The PSA continually refines its Annual Awards program in an effort to expand the impact of our prizes on the lives and careers of participating poets. If you are considering making a contribution in support of the PSA's awards program, please contact PSA's Director of Development at (212) 254-9628.

PSA award-winning books may be purchased in the PSA Store.

The Poetry Society of America is grateful to and admiring of the nation's poetry publishers for their faithful support and promotion of the art. In particular, we wish to thank the following book publishers for supporting our Annual Awards Ceremony.
