Join us at the Poetry Society for five consecutive Saturday poetry workshops geared toward children in grades 2–6, led by poet and educator Asha Futterman.
Students will explore a variety of forms, ideas, and exercises to engage the imagination in the service of composing poems, culminating in an optional reading for families and friends and the opportunity to share work on the Poetry Society’s website.
Enrollment is limited, and attendance at all five classes is strongly encouraged.
Asha Futterman is an actor and poet from Chicago. Her book Song of Gray won the Colorado Prize for Poetry and her chapbook, empathy, was published by The Song Cave in 2024. She teaches children at Saint Ann’s School in Brooklyn.
