OPENING DAY CELEBRATION

Join us at the New York Botanical Garden for an afternoon of live music, poetry readings, a pop-up book shop, and food trucks as we mark the opening of The Bond of Live Things Everywhere. Curated by poet Joshua Bennett, this innovative public art project stages Black poetry and performance in the open air, illuminating the bond between Black freedom dreams and stewardship of the Earth.

The Bond of Live Things Everywhere Symposium
Ross Hall; 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Moderated by Joshua Bennett, this symposium features a two-part conversation meditating on the role of Black ecological thought in the work of the panelists and the poets featured in the exhibition. Bennett is joined by Abra Lee, Aracelis Girmay, Leah Penniman, Sonya Posmentier, and Terrance Hayes.

Registration is free and on a first-come, first-served basis.

Poetry Readings
