Desiree C. Bailey
Desiree C. Bailey is the author of What Noise Against the Cane (Yale University Press, 2021), which won the Yale Series of Younger Poets Prize, and was a finalist for the National Book Award for Poetry and the Kate Tufts Discovery Award. It was longlisted for the International Dylan Thomas Prize and the OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature. Desiree is also the author of the fiction chapbook In Dirt or Saltwater (O'clock Press, 2016) and a recipient of New York State Council on the Arts/New York Foundation for the Arts award. Desiree is from Trinidad and Tobago, and Queens, New York. She will be the Writer-in-Residence at Clemson University starting in Fall 2022.
