New American Poets on the Newsstand now

Since 2003, the Poetry Society of America's New American Poetry series has featured over 75 first-book authors. This year, the Poetry Society teamed up with the literary journal A Public Space to present a portfolio of new poems by the current group of 16 authors (Jericho Brown, Jennifer Chang, Arda Collins, Katie Degentesh, Matthew Dickman, Michael Dickman, Carmen Giménez Smith, Aracelis Girmay, Jennifer Kronovet, David Lau, Chris Martin, Joseph Massey, Anna Moschovakis, Fred Moten, Meghan O'Rourke). The poems, introduced in an essay by poet and critic Stephen Burt, represent a diverse range of aesthetics, sensibilities, forms, and content in a testament to the range and vitality of contemporary poetry. Each poet is also represented on our sitewith a brief prose statement about their work and a poem from their debut collection.
